Welcome to the Nokia Coast to Coast Challenger programme for 2010. Here we list our charity partners; organisations that will help you help them, through participation in the Nokia Coast to Coast Challenger. There are extra incentives to raise funds too, as each charity offers up their own special Nokia Coast to Coast deal on entry – often saving you £££ on regular entry price and in return you are asked to raise a certain level of cash for the charity.
If you fancy raising funds for one of these super charities while you take part in our unique challenge, then read about what they do, find out about their deal and contact them direct via their details and links below to request more info and fund raising packs.
If you are a charity who wants to get involved with the Nokia Coast to Coast, drop us a line at charity@ratraceadventure.com. The 2010 Charity Pack is available upon request. In the mean time please see below for a list of our partners for 2010:
Scoliosis is the abnormal curving and twisting of the spine for which there is corrective treatment but no cure. The Scoliosis Campaign Fund is the fundraising group for two of the largest charities in the UK working closely together to improve the lives of those with the condition. Every penny it raises goes towards helping to support people with the condition as well as funding research into scoliosis.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications, and is the world's largest charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. It was founded by a small group of parents of children with type 1 diabetes who recognised that insulin injections are not the cure for this life threatening and lifelong condition.
At a global level JDRF volunteers and staff have been responsible for raising over £600 million to support type 1 diabetes research since the charity’s inception. JDRF raises money to drive world-class research to prevent, treat and cure type 1 diabetes and its serious and debilitating complications. For 30 years we have been fundamentally involved in the delivery of advances in this field; seeking out, assessing and monitoring the best science to drive the breakthroughs that improve management of type 1 diabetes and will ultimately cure the condition.

The Children`s Heart Federation is dedicated to helping children with congenital or acquired heart disease and their families in the UK and Ireland. We are a parent-led charity, whose main aim is to support families of children with heart conditions.
Funds raised for CHF go to:
- A free helpline that gives information, support and advice;
- Medical equipment that heart children use to test their blood at home, avoiding trips to hospital that disrupt their daily lives;
- Welfare grants to help heart families cope with the extra costs of bringing up a youngster with a serious health condition;
- Once in a lifetime trips to brighten the lives of heart children and their families.
Our vision is of a society in which all children with congenital heart disease have both their medical and social needs met so that they can live life to the full.
If you would like to raise money for CHF, please contact us at fundraising@chfed.org.uk or see our website www.chfed.org.uk
